Description of an object

LI: To write a detailed description of an object including its use

SC:It must have adjectives to describe size, colour, shape, a simile and information about how it is used and by whom

Following our visit to MOTAT we are going to write three descriptions of different objects based on the above criteria. You can view our video on our class blog to support your ideas.

1. Object: Kiwi Shoe Polish tin

size - There is a variety of sizes.

colour - Black

shape-  A circle

similie -  Kiwi shoe polish

used by - New Zealanders

purpose -  To polish and clean your leather shoes or boots

2. Object: Mirror Maze

size - Medium

colour - Metallic/silver

shape-  Sharp

similie -  Reflective

used by -  Visitors

purpose -  Fun/ Challenges

3. Object: Prison cell

size - Small

colour -  Grey

shape-  Rectangular

similie -  Scary as a dungeon in an old castle

used by- Law enforcement/police to hold Criminals

purpose - To punish them and keep them away from the

         community.

When you have completed the above activity write a recount about your MOTAT visit. You may include any or all of the above in your piece of writing. Check your writing and edit carefully, share with a buddy and save it in your inquiry folder. Once you have shared it with your teacher it must be posted on your blog with a pic. of your choice.

Swimming with instructors

Today we arrived at glenbrae school’s swimming pool to have our swimming lessons with the instructors and then we went into the changing room and then we got changed into our swimming togs and then we lined up at the side of the pool waiting for our turn and then it finally came and then I went in and the instructor gave me a paddle board and it was blue.Then we swam for a little while and then we got changed back in our uniforms and went back to class. I had fun because I learnt new things.

Life Caravan

Today the students from Room 7 went to the life education van and then we went in and my team and I had a project of working on a part of the body and my group got the brain and then we watched a video and the video was about a girl named Anna.She dot peer pressured to smoke,lye to her family and more.Then her friend encourages her to stop smoking and then the does.In the life eduction we had fun and we learnt lots of things.THE END.

Getting Lost On Halloween

Once upon a time there lived a bunch of teenagers.Their names were Tori,carly,Paul and Fred.They were trouble makers.

One day,the young troublemakers decided to get some attention by stealing some of their cousins lollies.Then their mother found out that they stole their cousin’s lollies and they had to go and get heaps of lollies and if they didn’t then they all had to be grounded for a whole month.

Then because it was halloween Tori,Carly,Paul and freddy got changed into their scariest halloween costumes and got 1bag each and then they went next door to their neighbour,Melissa’s house to get all of her lollies and to scare her.So they went up the stars and rung the doorbell.

‘AHH’ screamed Melissa.Right in front of her there stood 4 scary children.Then the children took off their costumes.’Hey kids,what a fright!you’re the ones that’s scared me the most and for that you get to have all of my lollies.’Thank You Melissa’,said the kids.Then they decided to go to the spooky forest to see if there were any houses in there.But Paul,the responsible one heard his mother's warning chanting loudly in his head so he turned around and said:”I think I’ll go home now because Mother said to never go into the forest or the bushes unless we had a adult to look after us do I think I’ll leave”.So he did.”Well he is on his own now lets turn left,but instead they went along the wrong way and then when they were in the center of the forest,Fred said”Hey guys,I think we're lost”.”Not for long Fred,I have my cell phone and It’s still fully charged with credit and a connection so now I could be able to ring 111.

Shortly, the rescue dog Lucy found the humans and did a triple bark and the cops came and rescued the kids.Then the children thanked everyone and walked home with a story to tell along with all of the lollies still in the bag.And they all lived happily ever after.
